Which model fits depends on the user, the room and the frequency of use. With five designs, NORDIC covers the most important care situations:

Load capacity & design

Standard up to 150 kg, XXL up to 200 kg, the BERTA shower bench up to 300 kg – based on the user’s real body weight plus a safety margin.

Seat type

Standard seat for comfort, hygiene seat for intimate care and drainage – both variants are available for most models.

Height adjustment

Between 43 and 60 cm depending on the model – important for sitting down and standing up safely.

Space situation

Free-standing stool in a standard shower, wall-mounted folding seat in cramped or walk-in showers, swivel seat when getting in over the edge of a bathtub.

All models are medical devices under CE MDR Class 1 – the stated maximum load is part of the documented product specification.

FAQ

Which shower stool is right – standard or hygiene seat?

The standard seat is closed and offers the more comfortable seat surface. The hygiene seat has a cut-out at the front for intimate cleaning and drainage – often the first choice in professional care and rehabilitation.

Are the shower stools suitable for professional care?

Yes. Powder-coated steel frames with wipe-disinfectable surfaces, individually available spare parts and a 5-year warranty make them suitable for hospitals, care homes and home care. Your conditions are shown in your dealer account.

Are there solutions for heavier users?

Yes. The HEAVY XXL and SVEA XXL models have a load capacity of up to 200 kg, the BERTA shower bench XXL up to 300 kg. Further bariatric solutions can be found under XXL aids.

What is the difference between a shower stool and a shower chair?

A shower stool has no backrest and stands freely – compact and suited to more mobile users. A shower chair also offers a backrest and armrests for users with greater limitations.

When is a wall-mounted folding seat the better choice?

In small or level-access showers where a free-standing stool would block the space. The folding seat is fixed to the wall and folded up after use.

What is a swivel seat for?

The 360° swivel seat makes it easier to get in sideways over the edge of a bathtub and to sit down without the user having to turn their whole body. Locks in four positions.
