Getting in and out of the bathtub is one of the most common causes of falls in the home – wet surfaces, high tub rims, and poor handholds. NORDIC bathtub grab bars, entry aids, and swivel seats provide secure support and enable independent bathing – most models require no drilling, are HMV-listed, CE-marked, and come with a 5-year warranty.
Depending on the mobility level and the bathroom situation, different solutions come into play. The five basic types at a glance:
Bathtub grab bar
Clamped to the bathtub edge. Provides secure support when entering, ideal for more mobile users who only need a single point of support.
Entry step
An additional step reduces the height difference to the tub edge – particularly helpful with deep tubs or reduced mobility.
Hanging bath seat
A seat suspended over the tub edge. Bathing takes place seated – without having to step down into and back out of the tub.
Bathtub swivel seat
Hanging seat with 360° rotation – the user sits sideways on the tub edge, swivels in and swings their legs over the edge.
Transfer turntable
Flat rotating disc for gentle transfers from wheelchair, bed or chair into the bathroom – minimizes friction and effort during transfer.
A significant portion of the housing situations to be served are rental apartments. Here, drilling into the tub edge or tiles is not permitted – or at least subject to restoration obligations. NORDIC bathing aids are therefore consistently designed as clamping or hanging solutions: Tool-free installation in minutes, removable without traces, with no intervention in the building structure. This makes them ideal for outpatient care, assisted living and all situations in which the aids must disappear without a trace after care ends.
All models are designed for continuous use in wet environments, powder-coated or corrosion-protected, and installable without drilling. The entire range is CE-marked as Class I medical devices.

Corrosion-protected materials, closed surfaces and non-slip components ensure a long service life in daily wet use. Does a bathtub grab bar without drilling really hold securely?
Yes, provided it is correctly installed. The clamping of the SAFETY grab bar creates a friction connection on the tub edge that safely supports the approved 130 kg. Important: a properly tightened screw clamp and a sufficiently thick tub edge suitable for clamping.
What is the difference between a hanging seat and a swivel seat?
The hanging seat is a fixed seat – the user has to sit on it sideways and swing their legs over the tub edge. The swivel seat has a 360° function: the user sits on it straight, swivels in and only then swings their legs over – considerably easier with limited mobility.
Do the seats fit every bathtub?
The hanging and swivel seats are designed for tub interior widths of 69–78 cm – this covers most European standard tubs. Please check the interior dimensions before purchase.
Are the models certified medical devices?
Yes, the entire range is CE-marked according to the EU Medical Device Regulation as Class I medical devices. They are specifically designed for daily use in clinics, nursing homes and rehabilitation facilities. Via your dealer account, you can see your conditions.
What is the EASY turntable intended for?
The EASY turntable is a transfer aid: It stands outside the tub and enables the gentle rotation of the user, e.g. from the wheelchair towards the tub, bed or toilet – without the caregiver having to lift the body.
Do I need both – seat and grab bar?
Often yes. The grab bar secures the actual entry and exit, the seat the actual bathing in a seated position. Both complement each other but can be used independently.
