ALBE GAS-RA – gas spring, hand brake and 200 mm wheels
Walking training does not end at the room door. As soon as the route crosses door thresholds, lift edges, paving or garden paths, small castors become the problem. The 200 mm wheels of the GAS-RA roll over them instead of getting stuck.
The height is set via the gas spring continuously between 93 and 138 cm – higher than on the models with 125 mm castors because of the larger wheels. With changing users, this takes seconds and no tools.
Two wheels carry the dual-function hand brake: pulling brakes gradually, engaging locks it when stationary. Outdoors, where paths can slope, this is not a comfort feature but a safety one. The other two wheels are swivelling 360°, so that the walker stays manoeuvrable indoors.
The load capacity is 130 kg and therefore below the models with 125 mm castors. If more is needed, the ALBE GAS (1-2251) with 150 kg or the ALBE XXL EL (1-2257) with 250 kg are the alternatives. Without a gas spring but more economical, the ALBE STANDARD RA (1-2250-RA) is the manual variant.

What does RA stand for?
For the large wheels with a diameter of 200 mm. They roll over thresholds and uneven floors more easily than the 125 mm castors.
Why is the load capacity lower than on the 1-2251?
The RA models are designed for 130 kg. If more is needed, the ALBE GAS (1-2251) with 125 mm castors and 150 kg or the ALBE XXL EL (1-2257) with 250 kg the right choice.
How does the dual-function hand brake work?
One lever at the handle: pulling brakes gradually, engaging locks the walker when stationary.
