Product in detail

ALBE EL – height at the push of a button, motor-assisted standing up

On wards with many transfers, it is not the design that determines the workload but the adjustment. Anyone who cranks or releases clamps ten times a day loses time and strength. The ALBE EL takes this over: the LINAK lifting motor moves the height from 83 to 131 cm at the push of a button and actively assists standing up from a seated position.

In practice, this means: the walker is moved in front of the user and locked with the dual foot brake. The user rests their forearms on the supports, the motor raises the supports and accompanies the standing-up movement. The carer guides and secures instead of lifting. Once standing, the height is set so that the forearms rest horizontally, and walking training begins.

The drive is operated via a hand control with coiled cable that hangs on the frame and therefore stays within reach. In use, the drive works independently of the mains and is only connected for charging. So there is no cable on the walker while it is on the move.

The user supports themselves on the padded forearm supports, not on the wrists. The inner width can be adapted to shoulder width between 29 and 46 cm, which makes the difference between correct posture and compensatory movement in walking training over several weeks.

Four 360° swivel castors of 125 mm keep the walker manoeuvrable, and two of them carry the dual foot brake for locking. The frame is welded and powder-coated in RAL 9006, so it is suitable for wipe disinfection and built for reuse.

If braking at the handle is also required, the ALBE EL HR (1-2247-HR) is the right variant. If a gas spring is sufficient, the ALBE GAS (1-2251) is the more economical alternative. For bariatric care, there is the ALBE XXL EL (1-2257): load capacity up to 250 kg, forearm supports with an inner width of 46–62 cm. All models at a glance: Gait trainers & walkers.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a forearm walker and a rollator?

The forearm walker takes a large part of the body weight via the forearm supports and gives considerably more stability than a rollator.

How does the electric adjustment work?

Via a LINAK lifting motor at the push of a button, continuously between 83 and 131 cm.

How is the ALBE EL operated?

Via a hand control with coiled cable that hangs on the frame. One press of a button moves the supports up or down.

Does the motor need a permanent power supply?

The drive is connected for charging and works independently of the mains in use. Details of the battery and charging equipment are available on request.

What is the load capacity of the ALBE EL?

Up to 150 kg.

How heavy is it?

20 kg – slightly more than the manual models because of the drive.

How does it differ from the ALBE GAS (1-2251)?

In the height adjustment: the ALBE GAS (1-2251) works with a gas spring and weighs 17 kg, while the ALBE EL moves the height by motor and also assists standing up.

Does it have a hand brake?

No, this model has a dual foot brake. With a hand brake, the ALBE EL HR (1-2247-HR) is the choice.

Can it be reprocessed?

Yes. The welded frame, powder-coated surface and replaceable wear parts are designed for it.

Are spare parts available?

Yes, castors, pads and adjustment parts can be reordered individually – see Spare parts & accessories.

Is there a version for heavier users?

Yes, the ALBE XXL EL (1-2257) has a load capacity of up to 250 kg and forearm supports with an inner width of 46–62 cm. You will find further bariatric aids under XXL aids.
